An experienced Senior Pastor with more than twenty-five years of experience in vocational ministry, Pastor John Wagner directs ministry and outreach efforts as lead pastor at Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock, Texas. A strategic thinker who has ministered in more than 120 congregations throughout America, Europe, and South Africa, Pastor John Wagner excels at developing creative avenues for connecting visitors with the church.

Prior to Turning Point, Pastor Wagner was Executive Pastor at Faith Church in New Milford, Connecticut, where he oversaw the entire ministry mission of the church, including worship, youth ministry, children’s ministry, visitation and pastoral care. In addition, Pastor Wagner directed daily operations at Faith Church, and provided administration and oversight. Before coming to Faith Church, Pastor John Wagner provided community leadership as the Executive Pastor at Discovery Church in Orlando, Florida.

Prior to his work at Faith Church, Pastor John Wagner served as a Youth Pastor at the Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center in New Jersey. Ordained as a minister in 1988 by Covenant Ministries International, Pastor Wagner holds a Master of Arts in Theology and Religion from Honolulu University in Hawaii, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in General Education from Golden State University in Los Angeles, California.

Since 1991, Pastor Wagner has traveled the world communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Itinerant Minister of John J. Wagner Ministries. Pastor Wagner has authored two courses used as part of the curriculum of Covenant Ministries International: “Life of David,” and “Life of Jesus.” Pastor John Wagner also directed an award-winning Teen Suicide Hotline commercial for cable TV. A father of five children, Pastor Wagner currently lives in Texas with his wife and family.
